The 13 inch Air has looked the same since 2022. Flat lid, notch at the top, MagSafe on the left. Four generations share that body and they all have different model numbers and different screen prices, so it's worth to check.

Why the M4 and M5 Air screens cost different amounts
Fair to ask, since the panel specification is identical. Same size, same resolution, same brightness.
Parts are supplied by model number, not by specification, and newer parts cost more. The A3449 panel is a 2026 part. The A3240 panel is a 2025 part and the price on it has settled. We follow that difference on rather than charging both at the higher number.

The 13.6 inch figure is measured as if the display were a full rectangle. With the rounded top corners and the notch, the visible area is a little less. Every Air since 2022 is the same and it's not a defect.

On the A3240 we fit original Apple panels only.
We know cheaper panels exist for this model. that's a year or two old, we don't think these panels make sense. The differences are things you'll see every day: whites that lean cold, reds that sit flat, a top brightness that never quite reaches 500 nits, True Tone that either doesn't appear or doesn't behave. And more early failures, in our experience.
If someone quotes you a lot less than 1100 AED for this repair, ask them which panel they're fitting and ask to see the box. There's usually a reason for the gap.
Panel only. Your camera and lid stay.
When an A3240 screen breaks, the rest of the lid is almost always fine. The hinges, the display cables, the antenna, and the 12MP camera in the notch. A full assembly replacement swaps all of it, including the parts that work, and you pay for that.
We replace the panel and keep the rest. Open the lid, remove the broken panel, fit a new one, close it up. Your camera stays where it is. Your hinges stay. It takes more care and patience than swapping a whole assembly but this is why this repair cost is 1100 rather than the cost of an entire new lid.
If the lid is bent from a drop and a panel won't sit flat, we tell you before we start.
At MacTech Pro we use Adhesive: original strips, not glue
The A3240 panel sits on pre-cut adhesive strips shaped to the display housing. They're made to take heat and hold the panel with the same pressure on every edge.
Liquid glue or generic tape is quicker and costs almost nothing, and it fails in Dubai heat. MacBook left in a car in summer, corner of the panel lifts, dust gets in, sometimes a crack follows along that edge.

True Tone of macbook
True tone Still works same after the repair.
On Apple silicon MacBooks the True Tone calibration is stored on the panel itself. If a shop swaps the panel without transferring that data, the True Tone option disappears from System Settings and nothing tells you why. We move the calibration to the new panel during the repair. The toggle is there and works the way it did before.
What breaks on this model, and how
Most of the damage we see on the A3240 macbook comes from a bag, not a desk.
Bag Pressure damage first. A charger, a bottle or a book pressed against the lid. It's not visible outside, but inside there's a dark spot spreading over a few days or coloured lines top to bottom, or a strip of the panel that's gone black.
Then closing the lid on something. The gap between the keys and the glass is so small that an earbud or a cable end left on the keyboard cracks the panel right where it sat.
Then drops, mostly on a corner. The panel cracks and sometimes the lid bends. We check the lid before quoting.
And now and then a panel fails on its own. Flicker, a dim edge, or lines that come and go as you tilt the lid. That last one is usually the display cable rather than the panel, so we check which it is before charging anything.

Warranty on every repair and replacement.
Our 3 month checking warranty covers the panel we fitted and the work we did. Dead pixels, lines, flicker, backlight faults, the display lifting at an edge. Bring it back and we fix it. This warranty doesn't cover new damage, whether a crack, a bent lid or liquid.
On Apple's side, the A3240 is a 2025 laptop, so some units are still within Apple's one year warranty. That warranty covers manufacturing faults, not accidental damage. A cracked or pressure damaged screen is only covered if you have AppleCare+, in which case go to Apple first and pay the accidental damage fee. Without AppleCare+, Apple quotes an out of warranty assembly replacement. Their price changes so we don't list it, but it's worth a call to compare against 1100.
If you have us replace the screen and later need Apple for something unrelated, Apple may ask about outside service. Our repair uses an original panel and doesn't touch the logic board, but you should know that conversation can happen.
Questions to ask any shop
Original Apple panel or aftermarket, and can they show you the part? Panel only or the whole lid, and is the quote for the one you need? Adhesive strips or glue? Will True Tone work afterwards, and will they write it on the receipt? Is the quoted price the full price? Can you watch, or at least get photos?
